Editing the Installation Configuration File      Installing NerveCenter Remotely

Running Setup from the Command Line

You can run Setup from the command line, using the values in the configuration file you edited.

To run Setup from the command line:

  1. If NerveCenter is already installed on this machine, stop all NerveCenter and Wind/U processes. See Upgrading to NerveCenter 3.8.
  2. If NerveCenter is already installed on this machine, back up any files that you have customized for your business or your environment. See Upgrading to NerveCenter 3.8.
  3. From a DOS prompt, cd to the installation source directory you created.
  4. Type the following command; then press Enter.

    setup -s

In the Task Manager, you can tell the installation is complete when the
_INSO432._MP process stops running. View messages generated during the installation in the ncsetup.log file in the newly-installed NerveCenter directory.

After you run setup from the command line, you still need to set up the NerveCenter database. For more information, see Chapter 3, Setting Up the Database on Windows.

After you set up the database, you must restart your computer for NerveCenter to activte properly.
