Removing NerveCenter 3.6 or 3.7

 
  To remove NerveCenter on UNIX:

  1. cd to install_directory/nc/install.
  2. Type the following and then press Enter:

   ./uninst.sh
  1. Specify your preferences at the prompts.

    The script removes NerveCenter, using the preferences you specified.

  2. If you manually set up any environment variables to point to the NerveCenter installation directory, change them to point somewhere else.
  3. If you are removing NerveCenter from this machine completely, delete the ncusers and ncadmins users and groups, including the nervectr user.
  4. If you are removing NerveCenter web support completely and the Web server is on a different machine, reconfigure the server to remove references to NerveCenter. See Managing NerveCenter for details.

Your next step is to install NerveCenter 3.8. See Installing NerveCenter 3.8.

 
  To remove NerveCenter on Windows:

  1. From the Start menu, select Uninstall NerveCenter.
  2. Select OK when asked whether you are sure you want to remove NerveCenter.
  3. If Seagate Crystal Reports is installed on this machine, it will be removed as well. Select Yes when asked whether you want to completely remove the selected application and all of its components.
  4. When the Remove Programs From Your Computer dialog box is displayed, select OK.
  5. If UnInstallShield was not able to remove all of the files, open the NerveCenter directory and evaluate whether you want to keep the files.
  6. If you had a SQL database, do the following on SQL Server:
    1. Delete or clear the SQL database.
    2. Delete the data and log devices used with the database.
    3. Delete the files used by the data and log devices.
  7. You may want to manually remove current user entries that are not automatically removed from the configuration settings. However, if you remove them and then reinstall later, users will have to reconfigure their autoconnect preferences, filter settings, and so on.
