Configuring the Platform Adapter

This dialog box is displayed only if you are installing network management platform integration for NerveCenter. If you are not installing network management platform integration, then skip to Changing the Destination Directory or HP OpenView Path.

The Platform Integration dialog box lets you select which platforms to support.

Note    If you are installing platform support, the network management platforms must be installed on this machine.

  To configure the platform adapter:

1. Select one or both checkboxes for the platform adapter you want to install.
   • HP OpenView Platform Adapter (OVPA) -- If you want to either get node information from or send messages to HP OpenView or NetView.

     ---

     Caution    Do not select OVPA if you are installing the NerveCenter Server on the same machine as OpenView but you plan on using NerveCenter's Discovery behavior models instead of getting node information from OpenView.

   • Universal Platform Adapter -- If you want to send messages to Micromuse Netcool or CA Unicenter TNG.
2. If you selected Universal Platform Adapter, select the network management platform you want the universal platform adapter to support:
   • CA Unicenter TNG
   • Micromuse Netcool
3. Select Next.
